The new ACRBO firmware PV73100_v7.4.x.r7317 (h**p://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=18238) is out, any chance of a patched PBO version ?
This new firmware, is only for ACRYAN, or i can install it on my PBO?
I'd been hoping for someone to port the ACRyan r7317 firmware for the PBO for a long time (r5440 was good, but it had issues handling subtitles).
Anyway, I haven't found r7317 but there is a Russian group (xxx . pborus . hostzi . com/1_29_ENGLISH.html) that is actively releasing new firmware that uses the ACRyan GUI2.0 skin (latest release was May 2012). The firmware also incorporates moServices, which allows you to add extra modules for services like SAMBA or FTP (xxx . moServices . org).
Anyway, the firmware works brilliantly for me, and fixes all the issues I had with ACRBO r5440. Getting the firmware is a bit annoying because the site is in Russian (don't worry the FW is in English) and you have to dig into the forums for active links.
Check out this thread at the patriot memory forums for links to the firmware: xxx . patriotmemory . com/forums/showthread.php?8695-ASUS-HD2-With-MOS-For-PBO (note, there is a version that uses the PlayON!HD2 skin (HD2) as well as a version that uses the ACRyan GUI2.0 skin (POHD))
EDIT: sorry for the weird looking links, won't let me post proper links
hi! i've flashed the image you linked but my firmware version stayed 5540,is that normal? the flashing process did just fine and i have the moservices fully working
That is normal. The new firmware isn't based of the official ACRyan FW. It's new firmware that uses Another Media Player (AMP) as the engine and simply uses an ACRyan GUI2.0 skin. I assume they stripped the skin from r5440 so that's why it shows r5440.
Can someone tell me if the Russian AMP firmware supports a PBO without an HD installed? All my files are on a NAS.
