Network command to play a file - Patriot Box Office Media Player (PBO)

Is there a way to send a network command string to the PBO that will play a file? i have a Control4 system and would like to develop a driver that uses the media interface to send a command that the PBO will use to login to a nas, navigate to the supplied \\192.168.1.32\Movies\2012\2012.avi path and begin playing.

Anyone done anything like that? any command sets that are out there that would help me get going?
