Over the weekend and today i whipped my video library in shape..
used thumbgen (kudos to the dev for creating this amazing piece of software) to create the folder and detailed images.
now i am not able to view the deatailed (synopsis/about.jpg) images neither in browser or in video wall..
in browser when i am on the folder i see the folder image but when i press the slow button on the remote my screen just goes blank…
similarly in the video wall i can see all the icons for folders, and when i hit play the movie plays but if i hit enter (enter/zoom) button the screen again goes blank..
what gives? Any comments fellow PBO owners using Medebo..
is there a file size limit on the detailed image (about.jpg) that the Medebo can display?
Check the pdf along with the image file in the downloaded rar, there should be instructions about name, size and dimensions of the moviewall images.

If you use thumbgen, the default size of fold.jpg (200x300) and about.jpg (1280x720) generated should work fine with MedeBO.
That's strange. In any case, I've been using Y2M (YAMJ to Mede8er) without any problems. If you still can't get thumbgen working, you could give it a try.

i have followed the instructions, the video wall comes up fine.. but somehow still the details screen wont come up.
And yes the about.jpg is around 1280x720, i did a check on some of them they are around that but not exactly 1280*720, ex 1280*747
would that cause a problem.
Also note all my files are on a External HDD (NTFS)

First, make sure that there is no sub-folders inside each movie's folder.
If that's not a problem, I would try re-flashing the MedeBO firmware. I find that I may need to flash it twice in a row; as sometimes after 1st flashing, the PBO does not seem to get totally reset/erased - I didn't get the initial set up Menu for Language/Wireless/Time. And it would do so after the second flash.
well, 1280x720 is not 1280x747 … this might be the reason.
If you can't get ANY about screen to get displayed (even though equal or less than 1280x720) then consider reflashing as some have reported this problem was fixed by a reflash.
ran a resizer.. (it did totally screw up the quality of the files) but i do have synopsis view now..
dont want to digress but weird thing the thumbgen template has canvas set to 1280x720 but it always spews out the about.jpg at 1280x747..
anyways will have to run thumbgen again to get back better quality images and run a resizer..
anyone recommend one?

Which template are you using for your thumbgen?
The template will dictate the generated image size.
There is a resizer inside thumbgen under "Export Image" settings - but that really should not be necessary as you will definitely mess up the image quality and text legibility by resizing it.
Was using a mod of a template called "clear showcase".
Am planning on redoing all the sheet this weekend (hoping to get some time) lets see how it goes..
I had the same exact problem. The About.jpg (movie details ) wouldn't show after the folder.jpg even though it was in the folder and right size and could be viewed in photo view. The about.jpg showed up as a black screen. I reflashed with Medebo and the problem went away. Now the video wall works nicely.
But for some reason
1. I don't see a watched indication?? (II do have it turned on in my system setup)
2. Is there any way to view the movies by GEnre or year besides manually putting them in separate subfolders folders for each Genre (Action, Comedy, Romance, Kids etc)? Do any of the video walls/jukebox from other firmware sort movies automatically? It does seem like Y2M showed it was putting things into various buckets when it was creating the about and folder jpgs but not sure what happen to this information if indeed it does exist.
2. the RSS based jukeboxes on the semi-official PM and ACRBO firmwares will do that for you, also the YAMJ jukebox on any ACRBO firmware will enable you to browse based genre/year.

Thanks but Let me try to restate this in my own words to see if I understand :
The RSS based jukeboxes in Semi-Official firmware and Acrbo custom firmware does not require movies to be placed in separate folders BUT I have to recreate the information with a program like TVIXIE2Playon!HD (which to date I haven't been very successful doing), I can't use the Y2M generated information.
The Semiofficial firmware video jukeboxs will allow browsing by Genre and year?
Acrbo firmware can use the video wall information I created in separate video folders with Y2M plus I can sort them into genre/year, which I can't do with MEDIABO?
I haven't tried the ACRBO Firmware yet but my opinion so far is the MEDIABO Interface is a lot nicer / friendlier then the PBO and PBO Semiofficial firmware.
Are their any other options then TVIXIE2Plyon for creating RSS video jukebox info

No it doesn't, you need a folder for each movie, but it doesn't require you to manually categorize them in the order you want to view them with (genre, year .. etc).

Y2M does create an xml file with the proper indexing info, I haven't tried it but you can double check how is it comparable to the .info file created by thumbgen or YAMJ2ACR.

Yes, rss based jukebox on the semiofficial firmware.
Acrbo firmware can use the video wall information I created in separate video folders with Y2M plus I can sort them into genre/year, which I can't do with MEDIABO?
true if the xml file created by Y2M is compatible with Txivie2Playon!HD.

agreed, though I liked GUI 2.0 more, but the problem remains (with all the ACRBO YAMJ jukeboxes) that the YAMJ jukebox will keep searching for an index instead of simply storing the jukebox locations once and for all.

Not as far as I know.
